DESCRIPTION

TAFOD ARIAN (Silver Tongue) is a multi-layered musical production based on lost Welsh folk hymns from the archive, following years of research by singer, composer, and music producer Lleuwen Steffan. Lleuwen is production lead, alongside 5 multi-instrumental musicians. Her work with sound archive material is at the core of the piece with voices from the past taking centre stage. The emotive musical performance flows throughout, combining live voices and instrumentation with electronic music and voices from the archive. The production includes film and translation. The film is rich in visual archive alongside creative interpretation through dance and signing. However, it is possible to stage the production without film. TAFOD ARIAN will be touring in Wales and beyond in 2025. It's a unique project that's a celebration of the forgotten sacred music of Wales.
