Y Brain/Kargalar Be Aware Productions After years of repression and censorship writer Meltem Arikan moved to Wales where she feels a deep sense of belonging. In a state of personal crisis, her Turkish-speaking, repressed, rigid self, Mel, meets her Welsh-speaking, adventurous, nature-loving self, Tem, for the first time. Written by Meltem Arikan, with Welsh-language elements by Sharon Morgan, Be Aware’s new play is an exploration of belonging, identity and language. This is a bilingual production (Turkish/Welsh) with English-language access facility. If the show is performed with an interval this means that we will perform the whole show and then there will be a session afterwards with the writer and creators of the piece. ABOUT THE PERFORMER Be Aware Productions Limited is a production company founded in January 2015 by actress and director Pinar Ogun to create innovative performing and audio-visual art works. The artistic production of Be Aware Productions is shortly to be brought under the administration of an artistic board. Be Aware Productions aims to produce works with an international dimension and appeal that explore, challenge and expand the limits of the discipline in which they are produced. The first production of Be Aware Productions is a short film entitled “Exhibit”, which is being submitted to various film festivals around the world. The company produced a mood real for Özgur Uyanık’s upcoming feature film, Holy Men. Be Aware Productions aims to produce a performance each year. The first performance will be Enough is Enough. The company also produces commercial work as a way to support its artistic endeavours.
