35 TIMES Mercury Theatre Wales 35 TIMES is a new piece of drama exploring the stories of women who are survivors of domestic abuse. The audience will meet a host of multifaceted characters with whom they will laugh, cry and maybe even learn to waltz. Following on from a period of research and development funded and supported by the Arts Council of Wales, Creu Cymru and The Park and Dare Theatre RCT, Bethan Morgan (Writer and Director) has created a moving play based on the real-life stories of women, from all walks of life who have survived domestic abuse. According to statistics on average a woman will suffer domestic abuse 35 TIMES before reporting it. Set during a Women's Aid coffee morning, the audience are invited to sit, have a biscuit and enjoy a cup of tea whilst the drama unfolds around them through music, dance and hard-hitting memories.
