ABOUT THE PERFORMER Old Soldier is a dramatisation of stories from 'Old Soldier Sahib' and 'Old Soldiers Never Die' by Frank Richards D.C.M., M.M. recently re-published by Parthian Books/The Library of Wales. It is a one-man play lasting approximately one hour. Frank Richards was a miner from Blaina who joined the army in 1901 to serve in India. He then fought on the Western Front throughout the First World War. The stories told reveal the reality of a private soldier serving the Raj in India and in the trenches in France. It will be first presented at the Melville Centre as part of the Abergavenny Arts Festival on the 30th of June 2018.
