The National Rural Touring Forum (NRTF) is running a major three year project which will substantially increase dance touring in rural England, Wales and Scotland. Night Out is keen for some of its promoters to take up this chance

If you are interested in being involved please contact Peter Gregory in the Night Out office, 02920441340 peter.gregory@artscouncilofwales.org.uk The project will offer advice, support and a menu of dance shows specifically chosen to suit village halls and rural venues. There is the potential for promoters to get funding to go and see work booking and the project aims to develop and supporting volunteer village promoters to expand their appetite for dance.

The first menu of work is available to download now.

The project will be delivered in partnership with one of the UK's premier centres for contemporary dance, The Place, independent theatre studio and development specialists, China Plate and Somerset's rural touring scheme and county dance agency, Take Art

"This is a really exciting opportunity to raise the quality and range of dance work available to audiences living in rural areas. The Initiative is also an invitation to dance companies to discover the delights that rural touring can offer."

Marketing support will be provided by a co-ordinator alongside 'Go & See' grants. Theseh will enable less confident touring schemes wishing to promote dance to either visit schemes who have a track record in putting on dance shows or to invite a successful touring scheme promoting dance to visit them.
